The Latest God-Puppy Picture

Ok, maybe I'm the only one who thinks this is a cute puppy, but don't you think he's adorable?? This was taken at Katie's softball game just 2 days ago. He was so well behaved as he sat in the grass and watched the game. He's an angel straight from Heaven...

The "Daybreak Temple"

I know that President Hinckley announced at the groundbreaking ceremony that the name of this temple would be the Oquirrh Mountain Temple, but to me it will forever be "The Daybreak Temple" since it is located at the Daybreak housing community. It is scheduled for the openhouse this summer and then will be dedicated in August (I think.) I noticed just this past Sunday night that the lights were on when I was driving back home from Provo, and saw them again last night when I was coming home. I couldn't resist driving up to it and getting a closer look. With the little cresent moon in the background it made the perfect picture. It's been a while since I've inspected the progress there, but it is looking like most of the landscaping is in place and it is getting ready for the openhouse.
I'm not sure which temple is actually closer to my house, this one or the Jordan River Temple, but either one is literally 4 turns on the road from home. Not only is it a blessing to be so close to several temples (8 within a one hour drive) but to have 2 brand new temples to attend the openhouse and dedications within just a few months of each other is amazing. Not many people in the whole world will ever have that opportunity.

Let's Go Fly a Kite---

With tuppence for paper and strings,
you can have your own set of wings.
With your feet on the ground,
you're a bird in flight!
With your fist holding tight,
to the string of your kite!

Let's go fly a kite
Up to the highest height
Let's go fly a kite
And send it soaring
Up through the atmosphere
Up where the air is clear
Oh, let's go fly a kite!

When you send it flying up there,
all at once your lighter than air!
You can dance on the breeze,
over 'ouses and trees!
With your fist 'olding tight,
to the string your kite!

Let's go fly a kite
Up to the highest height
Let's go fly a kite
And send it soaring
Up through the atmosphere
Up where the air is clear
Oh, let's go fly a kite!

What do you like to do on a breezy spring day??

My Studly Canine Athlete

We took Wrigley to the park to play with the frisbee and he was an animal!!! (no pun intended...)
He loves a good challenge and has unlimited energy whether he's chasing a ball or a frisbee...check out these cool action shots.

The Wrigster, fully extended, showing off his vertical jumping and mouth catching ability.

Check out those glutes!!

Maisy, playing the tough defensive back, knocks the receiver off off his feet and prevents the reception. No penalty on the play.

The star reciever jumping high to make another incredible catch that will definitely make the highlight films.

My Last Couple of Weeks

Yep, that's me...been doing a lot of surfing, swimming (well, not a lot, but some) and Couch Potato'ing. I must admit that I like the staying up late and sleeping in, but I'm starting to go a little stir crazy not having a job and all. I wish it were better weather then I could at least get out and hit some golf balls. Oh well, I'm practicing all of my patience skills and hoping something good comes along soon. Cross your fingers for me.

Draper Temple Openhouse X3

Tonight was my 3rd visit to the Draper LDS Temple openhouse. All three visits were awesome and it was wonderful to share the experience with my good friends---all of them: Kim, Katie, Zhi Wei, Stacy, Mark, Taryn, Collin, Stephanie, Marilyn and Deanne. The building is beautiful and the architecture is amazing. We all marveled at the design, the decoration and the paintings of Christ throughout the building. My favorite is the Minerva Teichert painting entitled: Christ in the Red Robe. (seen here) I have recently come to really love this painting. Notice how all the people in the painting are women in gold tones...she has a really interesting style that intrigues me.

This is me and my good friend, Stacy at the "cookie stop" following the tour of the temple.

Been busy doing this....and this!

Thank goodness Christmas is over with....I spent the better part of December working on Kim's "theater room" and Zhi Wei's bedroom painting projects. Oh, and Katie's bathroom painting, as well. Yes, I am exhausted and tired of painting, but am also pretty happy with the results. There's nothing like a fresh coat of paint to make things seem new and clean.
I came home from church yesterday hoping to have a relaxing day of doing NOTHING but watch TV, but to my dismay, the shelf in my entertainment center had spontaneously combusted!! The shelf above my TV had broken and my stereo, DVD player, cable box and all my DVD's and CD's were sprawled on top of the television. It took me a while to untangle the mess of wires and hook-ups. It appeared that the board just snapped in half--for no apparent reason. It happened some time between midnight and 2:20pm on Sunday, Wierd happenings around my house. It has prompted me to clean out all the unnecessary junk in the house. That will be the plan for this week. I'm hoping to go through every cupboard and drawer and trash anything that is unused or unnecessary.
I'll keep you posted on the progress.
